Grandma's Pumpkin | Blog of the Week
I sometimes wonder what the secret ingredient is that grandmothers in their food throwing? My kids love grandma's pumpkin. We drove 3 hours from Pretoria to grandmother to visit, and the kids started going all wonder if her grandmother is going to make pumpkin. I have my mother watched as she makes it step by step, to the same house, but every time give me three goblins same response: "It does not taste like grandma's pumpkin not! ' I explained that I did exactly what grandma does, and lots of them but it can eat. I explained until I was blue, but any argument is nothing. According to them it is not the same, it tasted different and any attempt I give is free - grandma's pumpkin is the very best and ready! Last night I heard my husband Chane's "Daddy is so lucky, dad was little was father every day in grandma's house to eat pumpkin! I remember my own grandmother Nancy's chocolate cake. We would visit with her and the track started to talk and wonder if grandma baked cake. As we reached the front door and that sweet reukie tickle our noses, we feel at home. We're at grandma vinacf and grandpa her special cake just for us, especially for us. It is to this day the very finest and best chocolate cake I have ever eaten.
I've been in a lot of fancy restaurants' lunch, vinacf traveled the world and can honestly say that no attempt near Baker's grandmother Nancy Bush's cake. And it is also good. Grandparents bring? special warmth and love, but I can say 'magic' in everything they make. I miss my grandmother and a few years back at her grave in Belfast to visit a flower out of place, and again said 'thank you for all those nice cakes that grandmother so lovingly baked for us. " Thanks for all the grandmothers who have special memories engraved in our and our children's hearts, you are so special to us!
And Aunt Joan, as we called her, my mother teaches bread baking when she as little farm town invited women to be. Anyhow, my mom could bake bread, ...... but if we are going to visit, no matter what time of the day was the first words I said, Aunt Johanna can I get a piece of bread, please.
My mom has a little bit as an embarrassment and we knippelduk conducted before we went to visit, but my, if we walk in the big old house with his long dark passage: Then I asked Aunt Johanna ....
